As part of his time in Athens, Mexican artist Libre Gutierrez created a sculpture in cooperation with the Athens School of Fine arts and with support from ArtBloom, the Mexican Embassy of Greece, the Municipality of Nea Smyni, and volunteers from Orange House. Libre previously created the Transportspueblos sculpture to provide migrants passing through Mexico with key informaion. This sculpture also celebrates migration and immigration, with the artist commenting on that fact that “we are all immigrants.” Built in the Athens School of Fine Arts, with vital support from sculptor Dimitris Kalogeris and ArtBloom, the flower is crowned with a tower of houses offering shelter to migrating birds.
